iPad App Prototype for RBC Bank Canada
I am an avid user of mobile apps therefore I have a great opportunity to explore the user experience of hundreds of apps through my iPad, iPhone and Android devices. In this particular case I decided to re-imagine the user experience for the iPad app for RBC Bank Canada.
Print Design
Varoius Promotional materials for the Irish Music and Dance show Celtic Crossroads
EMK Productions Director Eamon Crosby came to me with a concept to bring together young talented Irish musicians and dancers and showcase them to the world. His brief was straight forward enough; To make the brand for Celtic Crossroads look fresh and modern yet married in some respect to the traditions of Irish Music and Dance.
EMK Productions were so happy with the initial look of the DVD and CD covers that they decided to create complimentary souvenir programs and a show website. I designed all the graphics. Produced all the artwork for the printed material and detailed all the prepress work. I also hand coded the website.
Brand Design
Logo and Packaging mockups for Suslainte.
Suslainte is comprised of two Gaelic words. ‘Su’ is juice and ‘Slainte’ is health. So the concept here was to brand and market a juice specific to the Irish market. SuSlainte or Health Juice.
I first designed the logo then explored its application to packaging. Shown here is a package for orange juice only however the finished product will combine fresh native Irish herbs and fruits to the base juice. So blackberry juice or nettle tea could be added to the juice.
Who am I?
My name is Diarmuid which is a Gaelic name pronounced 'Jeer-mid'. I'm a professional Visual Communication and User Experience (UX) Designer. I have 15 years experience at top level design firms where I worked as Senior Designer (Web and Interactive) and Creative Director (Advertising Agency). I like to question in order to define the problem. Once clarified I explore solutions. Then I simplify the solution. My goal is to strike a perfect balance between the business objective, function and form.
What I can bring to your team.
I'm a professionally trained and qualified Visual Communications Designer with a broad spectrum of design experience. For example, I worked in a print house so I can take a design concept to finished print production with indept knowledge of all stages. I worked for over 10 years as a Senior Web and Interactive Designer so I can take a concept from wireframe UI, through UX analysis and visual design to programming in CSS, HTML, PHP and Javascript (Jquery).
